On May 9th, Nantong Huili Rubber Co., Ltd. and Qingdao University of Science and Technology officially signed a contract to establish the Collaborative Innovation Center for Sustainable Development of Recycled Rubber, marking an important step in promoting sustainable development and environmental protection technology applications in the recycled rubber industry. The innovation center aims to focus on sustainable development in the upstream and downstream of the industry through industry university research cooperation, and assist clients in achieving their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
On the occasion of signing the contract, Zhang Jianming, Dean of the School of Polymer Materials Science and Engineering at Qingdao University of Science and Technology, and Liu Heng, Vice Dean, visited the Nantong base of Nantong Huili Rubber Co., Ltd., as well as Mizuda Group. They had cordial talks and in-depth cooperation exchanges with Rui Yong, President of Mizuda Group, and senior management of the ecological industry sector under the group. Mizuda Group is one of the top 500 private enterprises in China and one of the top ten solid waste disposal enterprises in China. Both parties had in-depth discussions on the application prospects, technological innovation, and how to promote the application of resource-based products in the Meixinda solid waste industry chain in the rubber industry, helping customers achieve their ESG goals, and reached multiple consensus.
Since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015, countries have been actively promoting the achievement of climate and sustainable development goals. With the increasing goals and expanding coverage, enterprises around the world are inevitably affected. The recycled rubber industry, as an important force in the resource disposal of waste tires, also needs to actively adapt to the new environment, focus on sustainable development, and do a good job in top-level design to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.
